Living as if You Know the Ending to the Story

This will be a short one, I but needed to put this out there…

As a people of faith, and not just because it’s declared, but lived, it is fundamental to our journey that we believe whole heartedly that Love is the author of this play we call life, to which we already know the ending: simply, that love wins. Why is that important? Let me start off by saying that whenever a movie comes out based on a book that I have read, it is always easier for me during the nail biting moments when I know how the movie will end. Call it cheating, or whatever you want (I know some despise knowing the ending), but when I know something believe something, my behavior is rooted in that knowledge/belief and I act accordingly.

When it comes to love, knowing what trials I have faced, are facing, or will face in the future, the part I play, regardless of how awkward or messy it is, is based on this simple truth: love never fails, it wins…period. Hindsight has proven this to me over and over, and yet because of my sometimes fragile human nature there were nail biting moments where I did forget for a moment, I don’t any more. The greatest thing this journey has taught me, is that when I act on the knowledge that love rules, my perspective moves from fear to freedom.

Knowing that love wins ultimately allows me to stop trying to force, control, or manipulate the script, and simply become an instrument of the Author’s intent in every scene I am given. Knowing and acting on this has also given me the opportunity to take bold risks. The fear of failure loses its grip when I am aware that the final victory is already secured. I am free to unfold my blueprint, shine its light and love deeply, speak truth, stand up for justice, and create beautiful things without the paralyzing fear of “losing.” I will always win, because love does. And while expressions of love may differ depending on the person, because we are all unique, when you allow yourself to be guided by the original script…we all win in the end, figuring out how is the fun part.
